Leaving the MTC?? L. Tom Perry?? Yup, that's the life of a missionary!

Okay, so let me address the subject line. I am not leaving the MTC... yet! But I did get to leave for a couple hours on Monday! You see, Aldste Shear had a really bad tooth ache and so we took him to the health clinic here at the MTC. They set up an appointment for him to see a dentist. So Monday around noon, I was picked up by a van and was, "transported" to the dentist. It was quite the experience! I was able to be a REAL missionary for a few hours! So we went to Francis Dental which is, wait until you hear this, just across the street from WYVIEW!! It was so crazy! I drove right by Wyview! Ugh! I was in my old stompin' grounds! Anyway, in the dentist office was the worst! They were listening to a radio station that was playing amazing music!! Let me just say, I have never focused on the scriptures as I did in that dentist office! I was doing pretty well until the song of all songs came on. FIREFLIES by Owl City! I was dying!!! Oh it was terrible! haha! Okay, now to L. Tom Perry!!!! He was our devotional speaker yesterday! It was so incredible to be in the same room, (and just a couple rows away from) an apostle of the Lord! he has so much love for the gospel, and the Book of Mormon! Which was what his talk was on. We missed dinner to get in line early so we could get a good seat. Normally we wouldn't have done it, but the word leaked out that it was a member of the Twelve!! Oh I wish you all could have been there! SOOO INCREDIBLE!! I love this gospel with all my heart!! It amazes me that people of the world refuse the message of peace, love and joy that we (the members of the church) have to share with them! Wow, I don't think I have ever felt the spirit this strongly in A LAUNDRY ROOM!!! haha :) okay, on to the E-mail for this week! Matt!! Congrats on another volleyball win! I am proud of you! You are correct in calling Swedish a crazy language! It is a beast! But oh soooo much fun to learn! We taught the first lesson completely in Swedish this past Monday! CRAZY! Another bird got in the house huh? I remember those fun/terrifying times! :) The weather is crazy! It is raining like mad right now! Every p-day! (well, almost) haha. I loved what you said about seminary Matt. The Lord does bless your day when you attend! I can testify to that! Keep studying, and making an effort to no matter what, read and STUDY the book of Mormon EVERY DAY!! It will bless you emensely! Oh yes, the month mark! It was a pretty normal day! I tried not to think about it too much because it frustrates me more than anything! I just want to get to Sweden and preach for REAL!!! Lets do this! :) I love you so much Matt. You don't even know how much I pray for you! Keep doing the things the Lord wants you to and you will be blessed and happy! Keep it real Matt! :) Mom and Dad!! You two brighten my day so much! I love you! In answer to your question, no, I haven't been a host yet. Every week they call a few districts to help with that, and ours has not been called yet. But maybe in the future! Dad, Dad, Dad!! haha I love you! I can't wait for the AMAZING e-mail lol :) I am glad to hear that you are doing well and working hard! Keep it up! The Lord will bless you! Oh my!! Matt's english project video sounds like it was really funny! I really wish I could see it! Did you put it on the blog? haha i am sure the world would love to see it! :) Todd Rowley!! What a stud!! Congrats to him! I was very excited when I found out he was getting married! Mom, that would be soooo cool if in the future you and Dad had the opportunity to serve the Lord on a mission! You would love it!! As for the temple today. Yes I am going even though it is raining like crazy! I go every Wednesday at 3!! :) I love the spirit I feel there! Anyway, I love you all and pray for you daily! And before I sign off...... HAPPY BIRTHDAY HILLARY!! (on the 2nd) :) I hope you get my card in time!! :) Oh!!! Was I ever going to get the master list of addresses? And list of birthdays, important dates? I love you all!!! Oh, I can't call on mothers day.. :( ... but I will call from the airport!!! Love ya!! Time is out!!!

"Get down on your knees and pray like everything depends on the Lord. Then get up and work like everything depends on YOU!"

Hej Familj!!

Well, things are going well here! Lots of fun things going on like devotionals and firesides and LAUNDRY! haha Let me start out by responding to your e-mail this week. Dad! I love you so much, and I am glad your back is feeling better! Prayer is an amazing thing! Okay, with the gym situation, the devotionals and large meetings are broadcast throughout the MTC so on Sunday we weren't even in the same room as the speaker, but yesterday I was able to sit in the gym and watch the speaker. The MTC Choir is pretty big, and if they continued to have it, there would be no where to put them for the performance. They are only using like half the gym to fix the seats. I was able to get in to use the machines yesterday, but it was creepy because there were only three of us there! Anyway, they just don't really want you in there unless you really want to be. I am really trying to get the memory card to you, but it is so hard to find time, and a light color background. I will hopefully send it off today or tomorrow. Let EVERYONE know about my blog, I want to share this experience with as many people as I can!! The Lord has blessed me so much, and I would love nothing more than to share those blessings! Hey Matt!! You are a stud man. Golf now?!? When will you just stay with one sport! You have really been blessed with athletic ability! I am not sure how to rank the Swedish brotha.. sorry! :) just know that it is coming along well and that I love it! Keep at school work.... It is really important, and something to think about, we show the Lord how much we care by how hard we work. If we work to our highest ability, like you said, the Lord will bless us!! I know that for a fact Matt! I love you so much, and I miss you incredibly! At least at BYU I could call and hastle you every once in a while! Anyway, keep the faith brother! Love ya! Mom!!! This week has been amazing!! Its so crazy that I have almost been here for a month!! I want to go to Sweden!! :) Haha, you make me laugh mom! Thanks for clearing the tie color thing up :) I really am praying for you like crazy, so I am glad to hear that you are recieving the blessings! The Lord loves families!! They are so important to our Heavenly Fathers plan! Oh my, the volcano!! Tell me more about it!! So many elders are stuck here because their flights can't get out. Its CRAZY!! Send me some articles and pictures! Were there any deaths or injuries? Any idea when it will stop? haha wow, I need to stop with the questions! I recieved your banana bread today! Yum!! That was an AMESOME treat!! Umm, there is one thing though.. I would like some healthy food if I could. haha I know, I know! You are asking yourself right now, what have they done with my son?!!? But trust me, I am sane... well mostly :) I love you so much Mom!! I miss you!! :) Before I go let me just quickly share the message from the devotional!!! It was incredible!! The speakers were Elder Kevin W. Pearson and his wife. Elder Pearson is a member of the Seventy. What really struck me was something Sister Pearson said. She said, "Get down on your knees and pray like everything depends on the Lord. Then get up and work like everything depends on YOU." So incredible right?!! The work really does depend on me, and it depends on all of us. We must all be disciples of Christ! (which is part of what Elder Pearson said) :) Anyway, I love you all so much!! Keep praying, and keep reading the scriptures!! The Book of Mormon is true!! I know that for a fact! Have you SEEN the video on lds.org?? (one of the only websites I can go to) Go there right now and watch the "Testimony of the Book of Mormon" It is based on the talk by Elder Holland! It is BOMB?!? Can I say that as a missionary, oh well! I did! :) I love you all! until next week!! :)

No weights and choir, but a really cool experience!

Well greetings from inside the MTC laundry building! haha its so distracting to write in here lol oh well! Let me start out by saying that this week has been incredible! I have grown so much spiritually, and I love this work. dad, I am sorry to hear about your back! Quit working sooooo hard! haha I'm just kidding. My prayers are with you, and I really hope that you are feeling better. Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words. I love the conference talks! They lifted and inspired me. :) Matt... what can I say other than you are a stud. Congrats on the volleyball win! My workout here at the MTC is going great! But I have a bit of sad news. They are fixing the seats in the gym so we won't be able to use the gym anymore. They are sending us out to the soccer fields for the remainder of my MTC stay. Its sad because no more weight machines and no more MTC Choir... That was a real bummer, but I am getting over it pretty quick. The Lord sent me on a mission to teach and bring the gospel to others, not to sing and workout. (those were just some great perks) ha! I too long for the summer and the warm weather! We are pretty nice down here. The trees are starting to get leaves and the flowers are amazing. I am so glad to hear that Molly is doing well! I love her so much! Take good care of her for me! Be sure and let me know how the Jazz are doing! Go Jazz! I love you so much Matt. The Lord loves you as well and you are in my prayers! Mom!! I love you sooo much! I'm sorry it has been snowing up there! I'm sad you didn't get any of the new elders in Great Falls, but you will!! I am really excited for you because they are great missionaries! I'm glad that my address is in the program! Hopefully I will get some letters!!! Yay! I am soo excited for Jess and Matt!!! I secretly knew it was a boy. Tell them that they must name Mr. Teeny Dartanion, or Thadius? haha I really wish I could see the video of me being dropped off, maybe my mission president will be cool enough to let me watch it when I get to SWEDEN!!! :) Anyway, let me share a really cool experience I had this week, yesterday to be exact. It was the devotional and as you know already, the last MTC Choir performance. I was sure it would be a high up general authority speaking, but it turned out to be a member of the first quorum of the seventy. It was Glenn L. Pace. I was pretty disappointed, but oh how the Lord humbles his children! It was the best talk I have EVER heard in person. I felt the spirit so strongly I was crying almost the entire time. His message was on our Heavenly Father's love for us. I found it soooo annoying to write notes! I normally get a few pages, but I only wrote a half a page. He had requested that the devotional not be recorded because of the sacred things he shared with us. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. He loves me so much. Anyway, I got the tape recorder, and I'm working on filling it up with some good stuff. I am really trying to get the memory card to you with the pictures, but it is so hard to get a good picture for the cardboard thing, if you are even doing that still. What color tie should I wear?? I don't wanna stick out anymore than I already have to haha. :) Let me know! My prayers are with you always family! You are always on my mind, and the Lord's blessings are coming your way. You inspire me and your love comforts me so much. Your Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to know that I am doing great! He is taking care of me and helping me through the tough times. I love being a missionary and I love all of you. Take care and know that I'm thinking of you always!

Thank you so much for the mint brownies, shorts, maple bars and the card. I loved them and everyone else in my district loved them! It is true! When you get stuff life that people love you! OH! Before I forget again. Elders that are going to the Billings Montana Mission are all in my zone. They room right next to us. I am really good friends with them all. I told them all about Montana and you guys. They are so excited to be heading up there in a week! I told them that if they get to Great Falls that they have to write me a letter and find the Kundis house! Hahaha well enough about that. Dearelder.com rules.... just so you know it seems like its so much faster than letters. haha (plug, plug) yes Mom I AM in the MTC Choir! It is so amazing I love it so much. The spirit is there and it makes me tear up every time. I am playing the piano and singing my guts out. All my district says that I have an amazing voice and that I should try out for American Idol!! haha Matt, they have lots of good food here! And i work out ALOT here! Weight machines, a running track. I am getting some nice muscles and I do hope to be... what did you say again? Like a boss?? haha Anyway, the Swedish is coming along great! I love the language.. now if only I understood it better! lol :) General Conference was amazing! The talks were great! I couldn't help but feel the emphasis on families. It spoke to my heart and I loved it. the music at the sessions was amazing! the Orem Institute of Religion has it going on! hmmm.. Elder Shear and I think that it is really funny how our moms talk back and forth about us... Quite amusing to say the least. Mom, enjoy my blanket because I sure wish I could take it with me! haha So warm and fluffy. One quick question... Can you send me Kevin's old tape recorder? I believe it was in his old mission stuff. I would really like to have that. Just let me know in a dearelder letter sometime because I can just buy one here if I need to. I will be sending the picture card really soon so you can SEE what I am up to in this place. Mom!!! I need that list of addresses really soon! haha and if you can put my old BYU addresses on there too that would be dandy! I love you all so very much! I love this gospel and my savior Jesus Christ. I am greatful for his atonement and what that means in my life. The temple here is really cool!! The spirit is so strong with all the elders in there. Just AMAZING!! You are all in my prayers and I know that everything is going great! Keep the faith and press forward!
